aclaro’s management team is dedicated to achieving aclaro’s vision and to bringing the aclaro experience to the global oil and gas industry.
Christoph Faig, P. Eng.
Christoph Faig, P.Eng. – Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Corporation
Christoph is one of the founders of aclaro, and brings over 25 years of petroleum engineering and oil and gas software experience to aclaro.
Christoph has worked in exploration and production domestically and internationally for both integrated oil and gas companies and for oil and gas service companies. His broad exposure has given him an excellent understanding of the business of the oil and gas industry.
Christoph works with aclaro’s clients to design software solutions to their challenges and is responsible for developing aclaro’s vision and setting aclaro’s direction. Outside of work, Christoph’s focus is on his family and pursuing outdoor activities – cycling, hiking, skiing, and chasing his dogs. Christoph’s penchant for attracting poor weather and unlikely incidents/accidents provide for entertaining and true, but seemingly unlikely stories.
Don Heeg – Founder and Director of the Corporation
Don is one of the founders of aclaro and is focused on driving the vision for aclaro’s software products and working hard to achieve that vision. His nearly 20 years of development experience both at aclaro and prior to aclaro has been focused on designing, developing, and maintaining various aspects of client/server applications used for economic analysis, reserves tracking, and decision making in the oil and gas industry.
Prior to entering software development, Don worked as a biomedical engineer at various health care facilities across Canada. This included a term as Acting Director, Biomedical Engineering, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he was responsible for setting up risk management and quality assurance programs and leading the biomedical engineering team.
In his spare time, Don enjoys golfing, which makes the winters in Calgary exceptionally long for him (snow days in May are excruciating for him). Don also enjoys spending time with his family (both on and off the course).
Kelly Nunn – Founder and Director of the Corporation
Kelly is one of the founders of aclaro and brings over 25 years of experience in directing complex short and long-term projects in information technology in the petroleum industry to aclaro, including working as the Manager of Canadian Consulting Services for a large software development company. He has effectively managed both large and small projects, both on the client side and the vendor side, at several domestic and international oil and gas companies.
Kelly is focused on ensuring that aclaro’s customer service is the best in the industry and is never happier than when he ‘has his hands dirty’. Kelly also provides direction, guidance, and mentoring to aclaro’s team of technical analysts.
Kelly is aclaro’s social animal, and can be found at events around Calgary – in support of his family and their activities or just because. At the prodding of his family, Kelly has begun travelling, and in unguarded moments will actually admit to enjoying it.
Kevin Rooney, P. Eng.
Kevin Rooney, P.Eng. – V.P. Services and Director of the Corporation
Kevin brings over 25 years of petroleum engineering and petroleum systems experience to aclaro. Kevin began his career working in exploitation and production engineering for integrated oil and gas companies here in Calgary. Kevin followed his industry experience with several years building Petroleum Economics, Planning, and Reserves systems for a major software development company where he acted as Business Development Manager and Team Lead for several commercial software packages.
Kevin was aclaro’s first employee, and remains instrumental in ensuring that our customers are happy – providing business analysis, project management, and quality assurance expertise to our clients and projects.
In the limited spare time that work and family activities leave him, Kevin is actively involved in the local and international swimming scene, often found around pool decks in the mandatory (but joke provoking) white shorts. Kevin also spends as much time as possible on hockey rinks – perfecting his patented ‘spinorama’ move.
