Release of petroLook Version 3
Web reporting system provides a common interface to multiple
systems and removes the barriers that impede access, sharing, analysis
and reporting of data.
San Antonio, Texas - September 30, 2002 — aclaro softworks,
inc. (aclaro), today announced the release of Version 3 of petroLook*,
the oil and gas industry’s leading web-based reporting and data
analysis system. This latest release of the software, developed using
Microsoft’s .NET®† architecture, features several important
enhancements making it even easier for users to access, analyze, and report
the data that they need to make decisions.
“We are very excited about this release of petroLook,
which represents a significant milestone for both aclaro and petroLook,”
said Christoph Faig, President of aclaro, “We can now easily provide
petroLook’s rich reporting and analysis to other applications, or
to other interfaces. For a manager who likes to see the same report every
morning, we can now drop an icon on his desktop which allows him to generate
that report without learning the source systems, or even petroLook for
that matter.”
“PetroLook’s business layers are a key feature
of the system, and co-incidental with this petroLook release is the release
of our reserves reconciliation layer. PetroLook users can now use the
system to roll-up, reconcile, and report their reserves,” continues
Christoph, “Our comprehensive suite of reports includes the EIA-23
reports and a direct to RIGS export. The key differentiator for this system
is that it doesn’t tie the client to a particular economic calculator.
We have clients that use SIS Peep®‡ in Canada, Landmark ARIES®††
in the United States, and MS Excel®† to model their international
properties. PetroLook can roll-up the data from all three systems seamlessly,
reconcile the reserves, and report that data directly to the government
- replacing weeks of manual effort.”
PetroLook’s new architecture allows the system to
provide its analysis and reporting as a web service. This open access
allows petroLook to provide reporting to other applications, to intranet
portals, or in response to e-mail requests for reports.
The implementation of petroLook’s security model has
been completed for Version 3. PetroLook’s role-based security model
provides three levels of access for the system. The security Administrator
can control access to the system, to data types, or to specific data items.
